Clinton Savings Bank, Jack Conway, People's United Bank and many others are featured in this week's roundup of local banks and brokerages giving back to their communities.

 

Bristol County Savings Bank

Bristol County Savings Bank recently awarded a $10,000 check to the Heart of Taunton through the bank's charitable foundation. The grant will help support the Downtown Storefront Awning and Sign program, which helps retail and service businesses in the city's historic downtown.

 

Clinton Savings Bank

Clinton Savings Bank recently named five Central Massachusetts teens as its CSB Champions for the month of April. The bank, in conjunction with AMP 103.3 Radio, recognized Katie Edwards, Ben Davis, Hannah Miller, Katherine O'Reilly and Julie Tokarowski for involvement in their own communities, as well as the La Romana Mission in the Dominican Republic.

Clinton Savings Bank employees also recently raised more than $425 for a local charity when the bank participated in "Jeans Days for a Cause." The fundraiser benefitted Item Appeal.

 

Easthampton Savings Bank

Easthampton Savings Bank has made a $10,000 contribution to the Holyoke Community College Foundation for the Center for Health Education. When it opens, the facility will be equipped with sophisticated patient simulators ranging from maternity and newborn to pediatric and geriatric in support of nursing education.

 

Jack Conway

A team of Jack Conway-Marshfield REALTORs hosted a sold-out silent auction and wine wall at the recent 10th anniversary gala of the Marshfield Boys and Girls Club. The event's more than 430 guests raised $120,000 to help run the club and provide scholarships for its summer camp for youth.

 

Jeanne D'Arc Credit Union

Jeanne D'Arc Credit Union has named the Lowell Humane Society the winner of its latest "Give a Click" campaign located on its website WeShareACommonThread.org. On the site, community members can read about three worthy nonprofit organizations and then vote for the one they would most like to see the credit union support. The charity with the most votes receives a $1,500 donation from Jeanne D'Arc Credit Union. The Lowell Humane Society provides care for homeless and distressed animals, and educates the public about responsible pet ownership.

The credit union also hosted its fourth MoneyStrong for Life Fair on April 8 at the Tsongas Center in Lowell. Approximately 300 Lowell High School learned about careers, income and the high cost of being self-supporting at the event.

 

MutualOne Bank

MutualOne's charitable foundation recently gifted a $2,500 grant to the Natick Community Organic Farm to help support a summer work program for young adults. The grant was among the foundation's most recent round of funding, which totaled $43,725 in gifts to charitable, educational and civic initiatives in Natick, Framingham and surrounding communities.

 

North Brookfield Savings Bank

North Brookfield Savings Bank's first-ever Our Community is Where It's At fundraiser has raised more than $4,000 for four local organizations since it began in January. The bank's North Brookfield branch accepted donations for Hearts for Heat, North Brookfield Chapter, while the West Brookfield, Belchertown and Palmer branches raised funds on behalf of their respective senior centers.

 

People's United Bank

People's United Bank recently held its annual Reality Check Fair at North Shore Community College. More than 200 Danvers High School seniors participated in the fair, which takes students through interactive exercises in budgeting and money management.

 

RBS Citizens

Citizens Bank recently announced it is accepting applications for its TruFit Good Citizen Scholarship. Citizens will award 10 college scholarships of $5,000 each to students who demonstrate good citizenship through community volunteerism and leadership.
