Windover Construction raised more than $11,000 at the annual Relay for Life of Danvers event.The Savings Bank, Partners Insurance Group, Bluestone Energy Services and more are featured in this week's roundup of local banks, brokerages, and construction companies giving back to their communities.  


Windover Construction

Windover Construction recently raised more than $11,000 at the annual Relay for Life of Danvers event. The money will be used to support the American Cancer Society.

The Windover team far surpassed its fundraising goal of $7,600. In total, the Relay for Life of Danvers event raised $56,000.


Walpole Co-operative Bank

Walpole Co-operative Bank will host a free social media seminar on June 18 to help local businesses reach their target audiences with social networks.

Social media strategist Tammi Jacobsen will be the featured speaker at the event, to be held from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the bank's branch at 982 Main St. in Walpole. To register, contact Alison Moriarty at 508-673-9783, extension 10, or email Space is limited.


The Savings Bank

The TSB LifeSavers will participate in the upcoming 15th annual American Cancer Society's Relay for Life in Wakefield. The Savings Bank also recently donated to the Relay for Life as a sponsor of the Survivor Dinner.


Partners Insurance Group

Partners Insurance Group LLC held a free shredding day at its Swansea office on Wilbur Ave. on May 17. Community members who attended brought boxes of sensitive documents to be properly disposed of in a secure shred truck provided by Datasafe, a security shredding company located in West Bridgewater. 


Needham Bank

Needham Bank announced a $2,000 to Jack Concannon, a student at Xaverian Brothers High School entering his senior year. Needham Bank, which provided the scholarship as an extension of its partnership with the school, said Concannon was chosen for his community volunteerism, which includes work with the local parks and recreation department and The Ginormous Climb, which benefits the Suffolk County Children's Advocacy Center.


HarborOne Bank

HarborOne recently announced a round of donations totaling more than $27,000 to local nonprofits. The recent funding round included $10,000 for the Old Colony YMCA Strong Kids Campaign, $3,000 to Stonehill College and $2,500 to the Brockton Boys and Girls Club.


Bluestone Energy Services

Norwell-based Bluestone Energy Services LLC will be a platinum sponsor at the 2014 New England Energy Efficiency Conference and Expo on June 11. In addition to serving as a sponsor, the energy company will also host an exhibit at the event, which will be held at Westin Waterfront Hotel in Boston.


Berkshire Bank

Berkshire Bank named John F. McCarthy the winner of its Exciting Rewind Mortgage Contest with NESN during the first round of the Boston Bruins playoffs. McCarthy received a grand prize of $12,000 to assist with his mortgage for a year.

Berkshire Bank is the official sponsor of the Boston Bruins' coverage on NESN. As part of the contest, NESN Analyst Andy Brickley broke down game footage throughout the season during the Berkshire Bank Exciting Rewind segment to illustrate top plays. Viewers who watched each Berkshire Bank Exciting Rewind on and voted monthly for their favorite were entered for a chance to win. Five consumers were randomly selected from December to April to win a Kindle Fire HD as part of the contest.  McCarthy was selected as the grand prize winner among more than 3,000 registered contestants.
