Scholarship StudentsBristol County Savings Bank, Needham Bank, the Realtor Association Of Pioneer Valley and many more are highlighted in this week's roundup of local banks, brokerages and construction companies giving back to their communities.

 

Bay State Savings Bank

Bay State Savings Bank in Worcester recently awarded seven $500 scholarships and one four-year $4,000 scholarship to eight area high school seniors based on their academic achievements, character and community involvement. The bank chose one student from each of the six public high schools in Worcester and two students from Auburn High School.

 

Bristol County Savings Bank

Bristol County Savings Bank has awarded $16,000 to Community Development of Attleboro during a check presentation at Attleboro City Hall. The gift will help fund the upcoming Summer Expo for the Senses, for which Bristol County Savings Bank is the event sponsor. 

 

Clinton Savings Bank

Clinton Savings Bank (CSB), in conjunction with AMP 103.3 Radio, has named the DECA Team from Nashoba Regional High School as its CSB Champions for the month of June. The CSB Champions Program honors students from the region's elementary, middle and high schools, as well as local colleges, for their successes in school, sports, the arts or the community.

 

Jeanne D'Arc Credit Union

Lowell-based Jeanne D'Arc Credit Union has awarded a total of $9,500 to local high school and college students as part of its MoneyStrong college scholarship program. The high school winners each received a $500 scholarship at a recent reception at Jeanne D'Arc Credit Union's headquarter. The five college winners each received a $1,000 scholarship at the reception.

 

MutualOne Bank

The MutualOne Charitable Foundation has made its second installment toward its $50,000 pledge to the Framingham Public Library Foundation to support the new Christa McAuliffe Branch Library in Nobscot. The foundation first awarded $20,000 toward the case last year; this most recent award totaled $15,000, and the final payment will occur next year.

 

Needham Bank

Needham Bank announced this week it is in talks with the local YMCA to offer financial literacy programs for the organization's summer camp and fall programs. This year, the bank has been offering financial education for the YMCA's After School program to teach children basic money management principles, like saving, budgeting and prioritizing.  

 

Realtor Association Of Pioneer Valley

Nineteen high school graduates have received a total of $11,500 in scholarships from the Realtor Association of Pioneer Valley. This marks the 40th year the organization has awarded scholarships to local students. The recipients were honored at a banquet on June 10th at Storrowton Carriage House in West Springfield. 

 

Rockland Trust

Rockland Trust has donated $75,000 to nonprofit home healthcare agency NVNA and Hospice. The money will support the Pat Roche Hospice Home at Turkey Hill in Hingham, the area's first nonprofit hospice residence.

 

RTN Federal Credit Union

RTN Federal Credit Union sponsored its Walk Home 2014 on June 8 to benefit the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless.
