UMass-Boston: Choosing a Chancellor

Next month, University of Massachusetts president Jack Wilson will make one of the most important decisions of his relatively short tenure as head of the state-funded university system. He will recommend to the board of trustees one of three finalists for the position of chancellor of UMass-Boston. The importance of this appointment extends well beyond the school’s Dorchester campus. The new chancellor will also fill an important seat at a table of new leaders that will guide Boston as it navigates its way through the competitive demands of the early 21st century.
