Network Boosts Green Building Production

A collaboration of community development organizations has banded together to provide $2 million in financing to promote green building applications in the construction of affordable housing. The funding, announced in mid-August, will go toward the creation of 800 units of mixed-income housing in four area projects that will be built with innovative and progressive energy-efficient and environmental design features.

Hub Development Will Offer Live/Work Space for Artists

ArtBlock, a new development that recently broke ground in the South End of Boston, is being constructed in order to provide artists with the room to be constructive. The project will include two new 5-story buildings and the renovation of the old Bates School on Harrison Avenue, resulting in 26 affordable units and 28 market-rate condominium units.
