The beginning of a new year is a hope-filled time when good intentions float around like snowflakes on an early winter day, ubiquitous and dazzling, only slowly descending to the still-warm pavement. At this optimistic time, it’s good to remind ourselves that virtue is not a sucker’s bet and, its warm-and-fuzzy attributes aside, it actually has the potential to turn into cash. Massachusetts, I predict, is primed for a windfall.
