Accidental ResponseA week ago today, three people lost their lives when a hydraulic work platform plummeted from a 14-story building under construction in downtown Boston. One of the citys busiest thoroughfares, Boylston Street, came to a halt that afternoon when two construction workers and a passing motorist died after what is arguably one of the worst job site accidents in the citys recent history. Safety Matters The states new carbon monoxide detector laws have just gone into effect. Now carbon monoxide safety is being treated with the same level of seriousness as fire safety, and with good reason. Nicoles Law is named for Nicole Garofalo, a 7-year-old Plymouth girl who died of carbon monoxide poisoning last January after snow covered a vent to her familys propane boiler.
