Since the founding of Boston more than 375 years ago, its leaders have shown foresight in planning for “common ground.” Bostonians and visitors share and enjoy such exceptional public spaces as the Public Garden, Boston Common, the Esplanade, the Emerald Necklace, Franklin Park and Millennium Park, as well as civic and cultural facilities like the Boston Public Library, Museum of Fine Arts and Symphony Hall.
