Federal Law Needed to Regulate Data Security Breach Protocols

Several data security breach incidents across the nation and in New England have brought attention to the lack of a comprehensive federal data security breach standard. Congress needs to adopt a uniform national data breach standard that would protect consumers and provide guidance to businesses and nonprofits in the event they suffer a data security breach.
