It’s become more than a little unnerving these days to read reports about Boston’s and Massachusetts’ economic future. In the name of bringing public attention to portentous demographic, social and political trends, well-meaning nonprofit organizations are covering the state with a shroud of gloom so stifling that sensitive readers are reaching for pharmaceuticals or Jack Daniels, my escape of choice.
