There has been much written about the pressure that mortgage lenders and brokers put on real estate appraisers to “hit the right number.” Ask most appraisers and they will tell you that they have been asked at some point in their profession to bend a little to make the deal work. They also have been told that their company could see very few, if any, future assignments if they don’t “play ball.”
