One certainty coming out of the back-to-back natural disasters of hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005 is that these will not be the last storms to result in significant damage. Given the predictions by scientists for more severe storms as a result of global climate change, there will be others that result in widespread power outages and flood damages.
