Town’s Population Descends as Planes Continue to Take Off


The Deane Winthrop House at 40 Shirley St. in Winthrop, which is open to the public, dates back to the 1700s, making it one of the oldest homes in America.
It’s known as the gateway to the North Shore. Winthrop is located on a 1.6-square-mile peninsula 4 miles north of Boston with shores that provide breathtaking ocean views.
