Now that Al Gore and the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change have received the Nobel Peace Prize for their work on global warming and the film version of Gore’s book “An Inconvenient Truth” scored an Oscar last winter, the American public seems to be aware that we have a crisis on our hands.
