Hub Hot, Suburbs Cooler At Market Forecast Event

A mixed bag. That’s the outlook for commercial real estate next year. “Last year we wondered how long the investment sales volume would continue and now we know,” said Hans Nordby, research strategist at Property & Portfolio Research Inc. “Housing is a train wreck, home construction is in the tank and there’s limited job growth, factors that are holding us back. It’s the opposite of what we had five years ago.”

Bat Factory Carves Out Space At Fall River Industrial Park

Batter up. A Texas-based company that manufactures bats used by Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz broke ground last week for a new facility in Fall River. The opening for the $2.5 million building is scheduled to coincide with the start of the baseball season next spring.
