Town Keen to Replace Bridge, Pave Way for Development


The Williams Bates Bridge, connecting Groveland to Haverhill over the Merrimack River, is listed as one of the 10 most structurally unsound bridges in the Bay State.
The William Bates Bridge that divides Groveland and Haverhill is crumbling, and state officials are scrambling to find money to replace the 95-year-old landmark.
