Blame It On Charlestown

A 52nd anniversary celebration is an unusual thing: Most people tend to celebrate the nice round numbers, like 50 or 10, when they throw anniversary parties. But Jack Conway & Co., Realtor, apparently decided that the 52nd year in business was as good a reason to celebrate as any, so Conway, the largest independently owned real estate company in Massachusetts, threw a reception for more than 200 people earlier this month. The Norwell-based Conway has 40 sales offices in an area the company likes to call “Conway Country” which stretches from Boston to Cape Cod. The firm also operates its own mortgage company, Conway Financial Services.
The Charlestown office of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage must have some survivor’s guilt lately, as it has been cited as a key factor in the decision to close nearby offices on Boston’s waterfront and in Somerville.
