10-Screen Theater Opens at One Seaport

Complete with heated recliner seats and a 100,000-watt surround sound system, a 10-screen Kerasotes ShowPlace ICON theater opens today at 60 Seaport Blvd. in Boston.

Located beneath the 478-unit VIA apartment tower in WS Development’s One Seaport complex, the 44,000-square-foot theater has capacity for 855 patrons in auditoriums ranging from 63 to 131 seats. The ICON X auditorium is equipped with 4K projection screens and Dolby ATMOS sound system including 51 loudspeakers powered by a more than 100,000-watt audio system. A 150-capacity Lobby Lounge offers a full bar including 16 specialty cocktails, local craft beers, entrees and a small-plate menu.

Advanced reservations are required for all shows, and screenings after 6 p.m. are reserved for patrons 18 and up. Tickets start at $17.50.

Interiors were designed by STK Design. Artists for Humanity partnered with the developers on a black-and-white photography exhibit of Boston landmarks featured in films.
