bankESB will host an information session to provide community members with information on Big Brothers Big Sisters to help encourage them to join the program on Nov. 18 at their Northampton Street office location in Easthampton.

 

Bank of America

Bank of America presented Cradles to Crayons with a $295,000 check to fund national growth and support its efforts Massachusetts ($50,000), Greater Philadelphia ($20,000) and Chicago ($25,000). Volunteers also visited the Cradles to Crayons Giving Factory, where BofA executives and teams put together customized packages including clothing and books for local children in need.

 

Bay State Savings Bank

Bay State Savings Bank recently awarded $11,425 in grants to seven local nonprofit organizations through its charitable foundation. Among the recipients were Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central MA/MetroWest Inc.; The Casa Project Inc.; Jeremiah’s Inn; Literacy Volunteers of Greater Worcester; McAuley Nazareth Home for Boys Inc.; National Education for Assistance Dog Services Inc. and Rachel’s Table.

 

Bay State Savings Bank also launched a social media campaign on Twitter to raise $250 to benefit Hope Lodge in Worcester. For each new “follower” Bay State Savings Bank received during the month of October, the bank donated $1 to Hope Lodge, a patient service program of the American Cancer Society which offers free lodging and support for cancer patients traveling to Worcester for ongoing treatment.

 

City of Boston Credit Union

The City of Boston Credit Union has donated $30,000 to the city of Boston to sponsor the midnight fireworks on New Year’s Eve as part of the First Night 2016 celebration.

 

Country Bank

Country Bank has donated $38,000 to local senior centers as part of its annual donation of $2,000 each to various centers.

 

East Cambridge Savings Bank

East Cambridge Savings Bank will provide a hot pancake breakfast to local veterans in partnership the city of Belmont Veterans Affairs Office and the Beech Street Senior Center. Bank employees will also volunteer to help serve food.

 

Shawmut Design and Construction partnered with Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island to grant 5-year-old Shrewsbury resident Maxwell’s wish for a Swiss Family Robinson-themed treehouse.

Mechanics Cooperative Bank

Mechanics Cooperative Bank employees designed and sold pink t-shirts for $20 to support the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and raised over $1,600.

 

People’s United Bank
People’s United Bank employees recently partnered with Springfield Habitat for Humanity to provide assistance with the construction of 15 homes.

 

RTN Federal Credit Union

RTN Federal Credit Union has joined with credit unions across the commonwealth to support the Massachusetts Credit Union League’s 2015 Hope Candy Bar Drive. Funds raised from the sale of $2 chocolate bars will benefit the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless through the League’s Credit Union Community Hope Initiative.
