Clients of a Quincy treatment facility will receive a healthier array of freshly prepared foods after completion of a kitchen project led by a pro bono team of architects and builders.

RODE Architects, Bald Hill Builders, BLW Engineers and RealFood completed the new kitchens for Gavin House, a recovery building for Gavin Quincy, a 64-bed residential drug and alcohol recovery center.

The project included kitchen renovations to reconfigure and expand a lower-level food prep area, enabling the facility to provide fresh menu options for clients as an alternative to prepared meals.

RODE Architects assembled the pro bono project team.

“When we find opportunities like this to use our design skills and expertise in such an impactful way, we don’t hesitate to dive in. In this case, renovating a kitchen and food prep area in a complex facility fit right into what we regularly do for our hospitality clients,” RODE Architects Co-founder and Principal Kevin Deabler said in a statement.
