Banker & Tradesman and The Warren Group on May 19 celebrated the 2016 Community Bank Hero Award winners. The recipients are nominated by their peers and selected by Banker & Tradesman’s editorial board; this year’s class of 12 winners come from all over the state and are in different stages of their careers, but they are united by their service to their customers and to the greater community.
After hearing from keynote speaker Ralph Boyd, CEO of the American Red Cross of Massachusetts, the gathered crowd heard from the winners themselves. They spoke of their journeys to the state that night: of struggling to learn English after immigrating as children; of falling in love with their part-time banking jobs and never leaving; of the challenges they had overcome and the people they have helped. Each of them spoke with evident pride in the institutions they represent, the industry they love and the the communities they serve.
