The leader of a Roxbury nonprofit developer is joining the Colliers Boston capital markets team and will bolster the brokerage’s diversity and inclusion efforts.

Jeanne Pinado, CEO of Madison Park Development Corp., was named executive vice president on Colliers’ commercial sales and equity placement team, becoming one of the only Black women in a senior role in local brokerage.

“Colliers – locally and nationally – has been vocal and active in demonstrating its commitment toward building a more diverse and inclusive workplace,” Colliers Managing Director of Investment Sales Frank Petz wrote in an email announcing the move. “As an industry, it’s time to move beyond the rhetoric and really make meaningful change in the commercial real estate community today.”

Before joining Madison Park Development Corp. in 1998, Pinado worked as a senior equity investment officer at Massachusetts Housing Investment Corp. and as a project manager for Metropolitan Structures on office developments in downtown Boston and Roxbury.

Founded in 1966 to fight urban renewal plans, the nonprofit developed Madison Park Village and has completed projects including affordable and mixed-income housing, commercial space and historic preservation projects.

Pinado’s hiring reflects a goal of Colliers Boston Market Leader David Goodhue to bring more diversity into the industry.

“It’s the right thing and to deliver the best service and outcomes to our clients, we need people from diverse backgrounds,” Goodhue told Banker & Tradesman shortly after his promotion in 2019.
