Lowell-based Align Credit Union’s employees joined Habitat for Humanity’s 12th Annual National Women Build Week in May. The week-long event invites women to devote at least one day to help families and spotlight homeownership challenges faced by women. This year, Align volunteers aided in the restoration of a two-family home at 165-167 Adams St. in Lowell.

BayCoast Bank

BayCoast Bank granted $50,000 to NorthStar Learning Centers toward construction of a new Early Childhood Education Center in New Bedford’s South End. The project will encompass a modern 14,000-square-foot Early Childhood Education Center for the exclusive use of low-income, most-at-risk children of New Bedford and will serve to expand the capacity of NorthStar’s nationally-accredited program from 96 to 134 children.

Charles River Bank

Medway-based Charles River Bank sponsored this year’s Medway Summer Concert Series in conjunction with the Medway Parks and Recreation Department with a $1,000 donation.

The Furniture Trust

The Furniture Trust, a nonprofit that promotes responsible reuse of unwanted office furniture, held its annual Eco-Carpentry Challenge. Used office furniture donated by local businesses was delivered to 10 high schools where students had their spring semester to use teamwork, imagination and carpentry skills to transform these materials into new products, later donated back into the community.

Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union

Lowell-based Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union awarded $17,000 in college scholarships to its members through its MoneyStrong College Scholarship Program and Employee Scholarship Program. The recipients are comprised of both soon-to-be and current college students.

Newburyport Bank

Newburyport Bank has donated $1,500 in sponsorship of the Amesbury Beer and Music Walk, a major event of the 2019 Amesbury Days, now in its 120th year.
