The Davis Cos. has topped off its speculative 223,000-square-foot Alewife Research Center (ARC) lab building in Alewife scheduled for completion in fall 2018.
John Moriarty & Assoc. is general contractor for the project at 35 Cambridgepark Drive. Davis Cos. is positioning the ARC to attract spillover life science tenants seeking flexible lab space in a neighborhood accessible to the MBTA Red Line as well as the suburban employee demographic.
“The ARC is one of the very few blocks of large high quality lab space available on the market and the largest block of class A lab space coming to the market in 2018,” Brian Fallon, president of TDC Development Corp., said at this week’s ceremony.
Designed by Spagnolo Gisness & Assoc., the project involves demolition of the top two floors of a 3-story office building to support new 40,000-square-foot floor plates for class A lab infrastructure. Newmark Knight Frank represents ownership in leasing.
