Buyers with a keen eye for local history beware: You may face lots of competition in bidding for a Fall River home that’s just hit the market.

The home where Lizzie Borden lived out her days after being acquitted in the murder of her father and stepmother is available with starting bids at $890,000. Suzanne St. John of the Glocester, Rhode Island-based Century 21 Seyboth Team has the listing.

The 3,935-square-foot home at 306 French St., boasts plenty of restored period details alongside modern conveniences. The high Victorian home has a 3-season front porch, restored carved wooden mantlepieces and crown molding, inlaid parquet floors, stained glass and a giant farmhouse-style kitchen sink. And with a large two-car garage, six fireplaces, seven bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms, there is plenty of space to spread out.

Fans of ghosts and other ghoulish buyers will be disappointed, though: this is not the house where someone brutally hacked Borden’s parents to death in 1892. That home still stands 1 mile to the south at 230 Second St. a block from downtown Fall River, and operates as a bed and breakfast and museum.
