The Massachusetts Association of Realtors yesterday announced that after 23 years leading the organization, Robert N. Authier will leave his position as CEO on Dec. 1.

“We all wish Rob the very best as he pursues new career and life opportunities,” MAR President Rita Coffey, general manager of Tullish & Clancy in Weymouth, said in a statement. “We are grateful that Rob has agreed to help the association with its transition to a new state association CEO and will also manage various activities as the organization welcomes more than 20,000 people attending the National Association of Realtors Conference & Expo that is taking place in Boston for the first time since 1929.”

Authier was CEO of the Virginia and New Hampshire associations of Realtors prior to joining MAR.

He was the 2008 recipient of NAR’s Willam R. Magel Award of Excellence, the Bud Smith service award and was named the Southeastern Association Executive of the Year. He is an “Arkansas Traveler,” Conway Citizen of the Year and honorary member of Ireland’s real estate association.

Authier is former chairman of the New England Society of Association of Executives, Virginia Council on Economic Education and past president of Boston University’s College of Communication alumni association.  An Eagle Scout, he also was vice president of the Heart of Virginia BSA Council.
