BankFive

Gregory J. Medeiros, BankFive first vice president of credit administration, recently received the Outstanding Community Service Award at the 49th John S. Brayton Jr. Memorial Community Service Awards Banquet. Medeiros is secretary of the advisory board of the Salvation Army, and is also a finance committee member. He also serves on the boards of Greater Fall River Community RE-CREATION, Leadership SouthCoast, the Fall River Area Board of the Massachusetts Department of Children & Families.

 

BankGloucester

BankGloucester recently announced that Charles Nahatis has been elected chairman of the board, Thomas Lattof, vice chairman, and Andrew Nickas, vice president of the board. Nahatis has served on the board for the past 24 years and owns Cape Ann Insurance Agency. Lattof and Nickas have each served on the board for 44 years.

 

BayCoast Bank

James Wallace has been promoted to executive vice president and CFO of BayCoast Bank. Wallace has been with BayCoast Bank since 1990. He started as the bank’s auditor, and became controller in 1992. He was promoted to senior vice president in 2004, and he became the bank’s CFO in 2006.

 

BayCoast Mortgage Co.

BayCoast Mortgage Co. LLC, formerly known as NFC Mortgage, announced Daniel Long has joined the company as a mortgage loan officer. Long joins BayCoast Mortgage Co. with more than 11 years of experience in the mortgage banking and real estate industries. As a mortgage loan officer, he will work closely with clients to provide education and support for selecting the right type of loan.

 

Bay State Savings Bank

Jeanie Connolly has been named a vice president of commercial lending at Bay State Savings Bank’s 28 Franklin St. location in Worcester. Connolly has over 20 years of experience in banking, most recently as a commercial relationship manager at Clinton Savings Bank, and previously at Peoples United Bank in Worcester. Her primary focus at Bay State will be on loan portfolio management and new business development.

 

Bristol County Savings Bank

Isaura Tavares has been promoted to cash management officer at Bristol County Savings Bank. Previously, she worked in a number of capacities with Santander Bank, including assistant branch manager and customer service manager for its New Bedford branch office, and was also a licensed fixed annuity specialist.

 

Clinton Savings Bank

Clinton Savings Bank announced that Paula H. Mollov, formerly assistant vice president and consumer loan officer, has transferred into the role of assistant vice president and mortgage originator. Mollov will be responsible for connecting English- and Spanish-speaking existing homeowners and potential homebuyers with mortgage and home loan solutions. Prior to joining Clinton Savings Bank, Mollov had an extensive background in banking, starting as a bank teller in 1998 at another local financial institution.

 

Columbia Construction Co.

Columbia Construction Co., a construction management firm in New England, announced the promotion of Shawn Gallant to vice president of Columbia Interiors. He will be responsible for the oversight of all team members and projects, ensuring client satisfaction, as well as strategizing to secure future work. Gallant joined Columbia in 2000 and has progressed through the company, working on highly specialized projects for corporate, life sciences, academic and hospitality clients.

 

Commerce Bank

Commerce Bank announced that Brendan Ahern, assistant vice president and manager of its South End office, has been elected president of the South End Business Alliance (SEBA).

Ahern joined Commerce Bank in 2015, and joined the SEBA board of directors in 2016. He currently sits on the Citizens Advisory Committee for the Back Bay/South End Gateway Project, and is actively involved in the Asian American Civic Association, the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Boston Food Bank.

 

Members Plus Credit Union

Michael P. Jordan has joined Members Plus Credit Union as senior vice president of retail development and branch administration. In his new role, he will help oversee and direct all aspects of the credit union’s branch operations and oversee compliance and all automated systems utilized by the credit union. Jordan has more than 20 years of leadership experience in credit union and bank management. Previously, he was the vice president and branch administrator at Metro Credit Union.

 

Reading Cooperative Bank

Reading Cooperative Bank recently announced the election of Paul Bolger as one of its newest board members. Bolger brings a career of credit and lending experience to the board of the bank. He is president of Massachusetts Capital Resource Co., joining in 2013 after a 30-year career in commercial banking. He has held senior management positions at Boston banks including BayBank, BankBoston and Sovereign Bank. Bolger first began his commercial lending career at New England Merchants National Bank.

 

The Provident Bank

The Provident Bank announced that Brent Mathews has joined its team as senior vice president and commercial lending officer of the Boston region. He will focus on lending to commercial and industrial companies with an emphasis on providing debt financing for mergers and acquisitions and will be based in the Greater Boston regional office. Mathews brings nearly 20 years of experience in operations and finance, most recently as vice president of originations at PNC Business Credit in Boston.

 

The Village Bank

Kelly Johnson has joined The Village Bank as compliance officer and assistant vice president. In her new position, Johnson will be responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance on both federal and state levels. She has over two decades of experience in banking, auditing and risk assessment, most recently as senior regulatory compliance internal auditor with Citizens Bank in Cranston, Rhode Island.

 

UniBank

Sam S. Pepper Jr. has been named president and CEO of UniBank and the bank’s holding company, UFS Bancorp. Pepper comes to UniBank with over 30 years of experience in senior-level banking positions, specializing in lending and operations. Most recently, he was the executive vice president and commercial banking president for Equity Bank in Wichita, Kansas.

 

Webster Five Cents Savings Bank

Webster Five Cents Savings Bank named Patricia Whelan as mortgage loan originator for the retail lending department. Whelan has over 20 years of experience working in mortgage loan origination. In her new role at Webster Five, she will continue to actively cultivate business relationships with members of the community to ultimately acquire residential mortgage loans. Whelan began her career at Salem Five Cents Savings Bank where she worked for three years. She most recently worked at Mackinac Savings Bank where she spent 11 years.
