Construction of PUMA North America’s new North American headquarters is under way in Somerville.
PUMA’s 150,000-square-foot lease kick-started development of the 300,000-square-foot office building at 455 Grand Union Boulevard. The property is one of five commercial development pads left in the third phase of the mixed-use project on the Mystic River. The remaining four sites are approved for up to 1.5 million square feet of office and lab space.
PUMA is consolidating its local offices from Westford and Boston when the 13-story building designed by Jacobs is completed in early 2021.
Partners HealthCare signed on as the first major office tenant at Assembly Row with its new 730,000-square-foot headquarters that opened in 2016. A 100,000-square-foot office building at 450 Artisan Way is 100-percent leased.
Phase 3 of Assembly Row also includes a 500-unit apartment building.
