Massachusetts’ real estate inventory has hit its lowest point since the MLS began tracking it in 1995.

As of Jan. 2, 2018, there were 11,225 homes on the market in Massachusetts, a decrease of 14 percent compared to the same day last year, when there were 13,023 for sale, reports Anthony Lamacchia, broker/owner of Lamacchia Realty.

Lamacchia attributed the dramatically low inventory to pent-up buyer demand that continues to absorb available inventory, rather than a decline in houses coming on the market.
