The pending redevelopment of a huge Exxon Mobile tank farm in Everett isn’t the only big reimagining of local fossil fuel infrastructure in the pipeline.

Revere officials gave the OK to a plan last week that would see Global Partners’ 44-acre gas tank farm along Route 1A turned into two “technology warehouses” totaling 668,500 square feet.

No tenants have been publicly named.

The project, dubbed the Trident Logistics Center, will be built in two phases filings with the city show. The first phase, a 367,392-square-foot warehouse, would have 60 loading docks and two drive-up doors. The second, a 267,600-square-foot warehouse, would have 40 loading docks and two drive-up doors.

Both buildings would contain two office spaces on opposite sides of the structure. Plans filed with the city show 168 trailer storage spaces, 688 worker parking spaces and roof heights of just over 48 feet.

A traffic study included in project filings shows the developer, an LLC affiliated with investment giant Blackstone, is promising to either build a bicycle path along Route 1A or build a sidewalk there and give $250,000 to the city to beef up bicycle infrastructure connecting to the site in order to cut down on workers’ car trips.

Construction work is expected to begin this fall, with Global Partners leasing the site’s second phase until 2024, the Revere Journal reported. The paper also reported Waltham-based Saracen Properties is part of the development team.

The area around Boston’s Logan International Airport has become a hot spot for logistics tenants in recent years to take advantage of the airport’s cargo capacity, and the city of Chelsea recently rezoned nearby parking lots and other underutilized parcels for more intense industrial and commercial uses that could pay for improvements like flood resiliency and recreational facilities for residents.
