Many cities in other parts of the country have grown faster than cities in Massachusetts over the last seven years, according to a recent WalletHub study.

The study compared 515 cities of varying population sizes based on 15 key measures of both growth and decline over a period of seven years. The data set ranges from population growth to unemployment rate decrease to growth in regional GDP per capita.

According to the study, the fastest growing city in Massachusetts over the last seven years was Somerville, which, in comparison, was ranked the 75th fastest growing city in the study.

The next fastest growing city was Boston, which came in at 177th, then Newton at 297, Cambridge at 303 and Quincy at 320. Framingham, Lawrence, New Bedford, Lowell, Lynn, Worcester, Fall River, Springfield and Brockton finished further down the list.
