Food trucks have arrived at the Innovation and Design Building in the Boston Marine Industrial Park as owner Jamestown upgrades amenities for the 1.4 million-square-foot complex’s tenants.

A rotating collection of nine mobile food vendors began making the rounds this week, and are stationed on the north side of the building at lunchtime on weekdays. Two trucks visit the complex each weekday.

Jamestown acquired the massive complex last year and has filed permits for a three-year renovation designed to attract more tech tenants such as the MassChallenge incubator, which moved from the Fan Pier in early June. The project would involve the conversion of 206,000 square feet of space from vacant or industrial use to commercial, creating an estimated 550 new full-time jobs.

Even before it gets the go-ahead, however, Jamestown has been making changes designed to appeal to companies with younger workforces. This spring, two Hubway bike rental stations were installed, and a rush hour shuttle bus service to South Station is scheduled to start this summer. In September, the complex will host the two-day American Field exhibition, highlighting American-made clothing and accessories with food vendors and bands.
