The Worcester Red Sox’s new home cleared a major hurdle Thursday when the Worcester Redevelopment Authority approved the city’s request to acquire the parcels.
The city will purchase a garage warehouse at 50 Washington St. from Madison Downtown Holdings LLC, the company developing residential units and commercial space alongside the ballpark, MassLive reports, along with property at 127 Washington St. and 134 Madison St.
The acquisitions were originally supposed to be completed by April 1, the paper reports.
