Boston East

Trinity Financial’s Boston East mixed-income rental complex has opened its temporary marketing center at 80 Border St. and begun preleasing of 200 apartments on the East Boston waterfront.

Scheduled to open in January, the $71 million complex’s interiors were designed by HGTV and Bravo hosts Cortney and Robert Novogratz, who selected a “maritime industrial” theme for their first project in Massachusetts. The hosts of HGTV’s “Home by Novogratz” visited the Brimfield Antique Flea Market last summer to shop for decor, including a 30-foot fishing net that will hang from the ceiling of Boston East’s public art gallery, a canoe and other decor.

The complex includes six artist units and a public art gallery, rooftop lounge and new extension of the Boston HarborWalk. Trinity Management LLC will serve as Boston East’s property manager.

Trinity Financial partnered with East Boston Community Development Corp. on the project, which received a $3 million MassWorks infrastructure grant for waterfront improvements. Developers are marketing studio units starting at $1,951 per month.
