Boston’s Faulkner Hospital is planning a large expansion in Jamaica Plain.

Part of the Brigham Health system, Faulkner currently has 171 beds at 1153 Centre St. The expansion would add 78 new medical-surgical beds, “clinical support” and ambulatory care facilities in a 98,000-square-foot addition to the current hospital, according to a letter of intent filed with the Boston Planning & Development Agency.

The expansion will also include a new parking garage that will add space for 332 cars.
