CBRE announced yesterday that the firm had hired a new executive vice president of its Boston operations.

Ryan Romano will focus on the MetroWest market, the firm said.

“We are thrilled to welcome Ryan to the CBRE team in Boston,” CBRE New England Managing Director Jodie Poirier said in a statement. “He will further strengthen our client relationships, Greater Boston market knowledge and collaborative culture.”

Romano began his career in commercial real estate 11 years ago, after spending four years working for a Boston-based tech startup. Romano was most recently an executive director at Cushman & Wakefield, working with clients such as Clarks, CSA Medical, Infinidat, Patheon, Sophos and T2 Bio Systems. He has also worked at Cassidy Turley, FHO Partners and TechTarget. Romano was awarded the Commercial Broker Association’s Rising Star award while at FHO Partners in 2010.

“Over the course of my career in commercial real estate, I have focused on representing technology and life science companies on Route 128, Cambridge and Boston,” Romano said in a statement. “Joining the market-leading platform of CBRE is the perfect next step.”

CBRE’s entire four-member MetroWest team recently left the company to join JLL.
