Commerce Bank, IC Federal Credit Union and Main Street Bank are among the organizations featured in this week’s roundup.

Canstruction

Now in its 22nd year, Canstruction raises hunger awareness in Massachusetts by challenging 29 Boston design teams – comprised of architects, designers, engineers and contractors – to transform thousands of nonperishable food into larger-than-life masterpieces at BSA Space and in the Atlantic Wharf lobby at 280 Congress St. in Boston. The participating teams will compete for top honors in categories including best use of labels, best meal, structural ingenuity, most cans and jurors’ favorite, among others. The sculptures are made without the use of glue or other adhesives.

Commerce Bank

Commerce Bank employees recently participated in the United Way of Central Massachusetts’s annual Day of Caring, spending the day cleaning at Sherry’s House in Worcester.

IC Federal Credit Union

IC Federal Credit Union is launching a special education-based promotion for one year for all new and existing account holders. Account holders will be automatically entered into a biweekly drawing where two winners per week, per promotion, will be chosen at random. The first promotion will focus on Mass Education schools or programs, with a $250 donation to be chosen by the winners of the Intelligent Checking group (who will also receive $25), and each student winner will receive $100.

Main Street Bank

Main Street Bank partnered with Union Coffee Roaster to provide complimentary coffee to the morning commuters at the Ayer MBTA Station as a part of the We Love Our Community Campaign.

MutualOne

The MutualOne Charitable Foundation has awarded $10,000 to increase and enhance community assistance programs provided by the Framingham Corps of the Salvation Army.

Skanska

Employees and interns from Skanska’s Boston office recently volunteered at St. Mary’s Center for Women and Children in Dorchester, as part of the company’s annual “Intern Day of Service.” St. Mary’s Center offers family-centered programs for women and children who have experienced trauma and are living in poverty. The center supports 600 women and children annually with shelter, clinical and educational services, job training, employment placement and help securing affordable permanent housing.

Stoughton Co-Operative Bank

Stoughton Co-Operative Bank has launched its Checking for Charity campaign. For every personal or business account opened by new customers between now and Dec. 31, the bank will donate $10 to be shared by five local charities, up to a total of $3,000. The initiative will benefit the Stoughton Youth Athletic Club, Parents of Performing Students, Animal Protection Center of Southeastern Massachusetts, Brockton Coalition for the Homeless and the Ilse Marks Food Pantry. For new checking accounts opened with other accounts for a combined balance of $2,500, the bank will make a $25 charitable donation.
