The Davis Cos. is joining the list of investors in life science projects in East Watertown.
The Boston developer has formed a joint venture with Newton-based Boston Development Group, which next month begins the first phase of a life science campus at 66 Galen St. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The project includes a total of 450,000 square feet of office and lab space on a 5-acre site. Boston Development Group assembled the parcels including a former Colonial car dealership and received approval from Watertown officials in February for the project. The first phase will include a 224,106-square-foot lab building designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects.
The project team includes mechanical/electrical/plumbing designers WSP, structural engineers McNamara & Salvia, VHB, DENS Facility Services and landscape architect Ground.
