East Cambridge Savings Bank recently visited the Just-A-Start Corp. summer program to talk with the youth about financial literacy and career options within the banking industry.

The kids learned about the different types of bank accounts and how to pursue a career in banking.

"They were also given the opportunity to open bank accounts on the spot, which was very helpful for some," Kalin Mitchell, coordinator of Career Connection Summer & TeenWork Programs, said in a statement. "It was a great learning experience, and the youth had fun doing it."

Cambridge-based Just-A-Start Corp. is a non-profit community development corporation that supports low- and moderate-income individuals.
