A newly approved 139,900-square-foot development in Boston’s South End will create the city’s first “co-living” community, with 327 individually leased bedrooms in up to 250 units.

Hotel-style amenities will include a common kitchen and lounge, coworking and meeting space, fitness facilities and roof deck. Residences will come equipped with furniture, WiFi and TV connections and receive housekeeping service. A live-in community manager will organize social events.

Co-living specialist Ollie will provide housekeeping and resident programming, while units will be equipped with convertible furniture such as folding beds and desks that transform into dinner tables.

“7INK by Ollie and the co-living program is the logical evolution of our innovative Ink Block brand. The built-in infrastructure of Whole Foods Market, our restaurant and fitness retailers, the AC Hotel by Marriott, and our new Underground at Ink Block art park make this a perfect location for co-living.” — Ted Tye, managing partner, National Development
