A pair of loans totaling $9 million from Rockland Trust Co. will enable a developer to acquire and develop a 55-and-over housing project featuring modular construction.

Bassett Development LLC is developing the 60-acre parcel at 1162 Bay St. into 110 modular family units to be constructed in three phases over five years. Construction of the first phase of Titicut Estates began in early 2021 and will be complete in late spring, Rockland Trust said in an announcement.

Keller Williams Real Estate will market the homes, with prices ranging from $350,000 to $375,000.

“By providing our community with more affordable housing options like Titicut Estates, we’re creating thoughtful developments that truly cater to those that are 55 and over,” John Davison, first vice president of commercial lending at Rockland Trust, said in a statement.
