The president and CEO of New Hampshire’s largest credit union has left the organization.

David Van Rossum ended his employment with Portsmouth-based Service Credit Union in June after two and a half years in the post, according to his LinkedIn profile.

“Andrew McGeorge, Service Credit Union chief financial officer, is the interim president/CEO for the credit union,” a Service Credit Union representative told the Credit Union Times when asked about the matter.

Van Rossum’s exit appears to be related to compensation. Portsmouth attorney Lawrence Gormley told SeaCoastonline.com earlier this week that he represents Van Rossum, who “performed capably on behalf of SCU but, due to a good-faith dispute about his compensation, they mutually agreed to separate.”

Van Rossum replaced former CEO and president Gordon Simmons two years ago, who is now entangled in his own legal battle with SCU over a contract dispute. SCU has countered, alleging Simmons breached his fiduciary duty for actions he took at the credit union after it was discovered that he had an affair with his administrative assistant.

Service Credit Union has over $3.3 billion in assets, 247,000 members and branches in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and North Dakota, as well as more than a dozen branches in Germany.
