Former Reebok CEO Paul Fireman has sold his Brookline mansion overlooking The Country Club for $23 million.

The buyer, according to public records, was an LLC controlled by Paul Karger, co-founder of Boston-based wealth management firm Twin Focus. Karger bought the property with a $14.95 million mortgage from First Republic Bank.

The 26,623-square-foot home was originally listed for $90 million four years ago when it first hit the market. Fireman later split the property in half and listed the 7-acre portion containing the home for $38 million in October of last year before dropping the price to $33 million. Public records of the subdivision state there are anticipated to be five other buildable lots carved from the original estate.

Fireman built the property in 1999, according to town records.

The listing agent was The Sarkis Team at Douglas Elliman Real Estate.
