Robotics Company Signs Lease in Financial District

After closing on $6.4 million in venture capital funding last fall, a Somerville-based robotics company is leasing a new research facility in Boston’s Financial District.

LAB Minds LLC will occupy 6,000 square feet in A.W. Perry’s 20 Winthrop Square following a tenant fitout scheduled for completion in April.

The brick-and-limestone-facade building was completed a year after Boston’s Great Fire of 1872 and is included on the National Register of Historic Places, according to Cambridge-based ABG Commercial Realty which brokered the lease transaction. The building, which also contains A.W. Perry’s headquarters, includes four 6,000-square-foot floor plates.

LabMinds lists current offices at 230 Somerville Ave. and Abingdon, United Kingdom.
