Rockland Trust continued its Worcester-area expansion this week with a ribbon-cutting at its first retail branch in Shrewsbury.

Located in the Lakeway Commons shopping plaza off of Route 9, the location will offer a 24-hour ATM with “live teller services,” which provides customers a video link to a teller, seven days a week before and after branch hours, to assist with transactions and answer questions. The branch will also support a range of customer financial needs, safe deposit boxes, foreign currency and exchange, a dedicated business banking officer, and an investment management financial consultant.

“To us, banking is about much more than processing deposits and withdrawals,” branch manager Warren Manigault said in a statement. “We look at every interaction as an opportunity to build a meaningful relationship with our customers. And by offering a financial partnership, we become a trusted advisor to help them, their family, their friends and their business.”

Manigault is also the regional manager for Rockland’s Worcester expansion. The Shrewsbury branch marks its sixth in the area, in addition to a commercial lending and investment management office in Worcester itself and eight stand-alone ATMs in the metro area.

Warren Manigault, Shrewsbury Branch Manager and the Bank’s Worcester Regional Retail Manager, leads a team of Relationship Bankers at this location who are available to assist with everyday transactions, in-branch and digital banking technology and more complex financial needs.

“We are thrilled to be able to expand our branch network in Worcester County and look forward to all of the strong relationships we will build with the Shrewsbury community,” Rockland Trust Senior Vice President and Director of Retail Administration Margaret McCarthy said in a statement. “Our success is based on having respectful and knowledgeable bankers, and Warren and his team bring a high-level of experience, professionalism and energy into every conversation.”

The bank marked the occasion with a $5,000 donation to both the Worcester County Food Bank and Shrewsbury Youth & Family Services.
