Another Allston supermarket property could add hundreds of multifamily housing units as part of a proposed redevelopment.

Affiliates of Kimco Realty Corp. plan to relocate the Whole Foods Market and Citizens Bank branch at 15-35 Washington St. to make room for 270 multifamily housing units on the same parcel, according to a notification letter filed Friday with the Boston Planning and Development Agency.

The developer plans to add structured parking on the 2.3-acre site, attorney David Linhart of Goulston & Storrs wrote. The new commercial component would total nearly 50,000 square feet. A project notification form will be submitted within 60 days.

It’s the second active proposal to add housing at a supermarket property in Allston, as the BPDA continues to review Stop & Shop Supermarket Co.’s January proposal to build 1,050 apartments and condos and 300,000 square feet of office space at its 11-acre shopping center property at 60 Everett St.

The 1.9-million-square-foot project would add three residential towers and an office building, including two residential buildings over a new supermarket podium.
