Mass. Marijuana Summit

The State House News Service hosted its second session of the Massachusetts Marijuana Summit on March 2, discussing a range of issues including new federal enforcement and the divergent approach of various municipalities as they weigh the pros and cons of legalization.

The summit also explored the operational difficulties faced by cannabis business professionals, including accessing capital, banking, accounting and acquiring and training talent.

Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commissioner Shaleen Title gave the keynote address. Panelists included Aaron Bluse of Altitude Organic, Jim Smith of Smith, Costello & Crawford, Somerville Mayor Joe Curtatone, Meg Sanders of Revolution Clinics, Mitzi Hollenbeck of Citrin Cooperman, Kim Napoli of NETA, Andrew Thut of Mission Partners and Mike Dundas of Sira Naturals.

With only a few months before recreational sales debut in the commonwealth, potential options for banking marijuana are still largely unknown.
